Veterinary Medicine Admission
Our Veterinary Medicine Preparation Course is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful application. The programme comprises four key components: Work Experience, Personal Statement Coaching, Interview Coaching and ESAT Coaching (for Cambridge only). This comprehensive approach ensures students are fully prepared to achieve their aspirations.
01
Vet Med Work Experience

Securing relevant and varied work experience is arguably the most critical non-academic component of a successful application to veterinary medicine. It is not just an advantage; for many of the UK’s leading vet schools, it is a mandatory prerequisite. For example, the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) requires applicants to have completed at least four weeks (140 hours) of experience, split between clinical and animal handling settings. Similarly, the University of Nottingham looks for a minimum of five weeks of work experience.
We recognise that securing these high-quality, relevant placements can be incredibly challenging. This is where Reagent Academy provides crucial support. Leveraging our extensive network, we help students find and secure the valuable work experience opportunities they need to build a compelling application. We ensure that meeting the demanding work experience requirements is not an obstacle, but a strength, allowing you to confidently apply to your dream vet school.

03
Vet Med Interview Coaching

Mastering Vet School Interview Formats
Veterinary school interviews can range from traditional panel discussions to the challenging Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI). Our comprehensive training equips you with the essential skills and specific knowledge to confidently navigate both formats, ensuring you are prepared for any question style your chosen universities use.
Realistic, Vet-Specific Mock Interviews
We conduct realistic mock interviews that are tailored to the specific styles of your chosen vet schools. These sessions simulate the real experience, focusing on common veterinary topics, providing invaluable and targeted practice.
Expert 1-to-1 Coaching and Feedback
Following each mock interview, you will receive detailed, one-to-one feedback from an expert tutor. We will help you structure your responses effectively, enhance your communication skills, and build the confidence to tackle difficult ethical questions, allowing you to refine your performance with every session.
Regular Progress updates
We believe in a collaborative approach. Upon request, we will provide detailed feedback and progress updates to parents, keeping you informed and involved throughout the interview preparation process.
04
ESAT Coaching
(for Cambridge applicants only)
For students aspiring to study Veterinary Medicine at the University of Cambridge, the Engineering and Science Admissions Test (ESAT) is a mandatory component of the application process.
It is important to note that this is a specific Cambridge requirement, as other UK veterinary schools do not ask applicants to sit this test.
To help you meet this unique challenge, Reagent Academy offers expert, targeted coaching from tutors experienced in the ESAT, ensuring you are fully prepared to demonstrate the advanced scientific aptitude required.
